Apartment on the Grebnoy Canal, Staint Petersburg
This 200 m2 apartment is located in a modern building with a rounded facade. Because of this the apartment has a trapezoidal shape with rounded corners in a wide side of the trapezoid. All planning decisions, thus, are created around the idea of the circle.
The apartment has a functional layout: guests are greeted by the front hall with contrasting black and white marble floor. Strict solemnity of this space is emphasized by wall panels and accessories, such as a mirror in a varnished frame.
This space opens into the living room and dining room – they are decorated in blue and sky-blue tones and furnished in Art Deco style. Many interior elements and carpentry were made according to the designer’s sketches – for example, a library located in the rounded part of the living room and a ceremonial sideboard in the dining room. Doors with brass profiles and handles and triple glass with facets deserve special attention.
In the master bedroom, the walls are decorated with hand-painted panels: behind one of them is a hidden cabinet. A huge number of details invented specifically for this project and executed with impeccable accuracy makes it truly unique.
